The Comfort of Radiant Heat

You’ve seen it happening; the fall colors are appearing. That means the cold temperatures are not far away. If you haven’t made preparations to maximize your comfort this winter it is not too late by any means. Radiant floor heating would be the ideal way to do this.

With radiant heating, the floor area is heated and that leads to a comfort level unmatched by a traditional forced air system. Warmer temperatures are radiated at the floor so you get the heat where you can benefit from it. In a traditionally heated room the warmer air is concentrated near the ceiling as warm is blown in through a heating duct.  The floor area can remain cool or even cold. That does you no good with regards to comfort and isn’t that what it is all about? Heating from the ‘top down’ means less efficiency as well.

If you haven’t experienced radiant heat, do yourself a big favor and do so. These systems can even be installed in existing homes over existing surfaces. It would be the greatest comfort enhancing project you can do to your home. Before the real cold arrives, do your feet (and the rest of you) a big favor and install a radiant floor heating system. Then proceed to enjoy the most comfortable winter you have ever experienced.
